Parkland Green – Relax and Chill

The latest buzz in town is Parkland Green. Yeah, it’s not a new restaurant, it’s not a new airport, it’s not even a mall. It’s a nice enclave of restaurants, cafes, retail shops and a beautiful green lawn for picnics, running kids and walking dogs! Ohhh and it’s by the beach. Lovely open spaces, fresh fresh air and East Coast Park.

So where is this? The quickest location guide is directly opposite Parkway Parade. It is NOT where East Coast Mac’s used to be, It is NOT where Big Splash used to be. It is really literally directly opposite Parkway Parade. This used to be a Golfing Range, so it may be quite a new venue for the non-golfers.

What is so special about Parkland Green? When we went to check out the place, it was just so nice to be away from busy hustle bustle in the city. The entire layout of the place was such that it created a really relaxing and chill environment, totally cool for the young or old to hang out.

There are 8 F&B outlets at Parkland Green, and we got the opportunity to check them out!

This is a unique fusion eating place. Quality Northern Indian + Mexican cuisine plus sports and more sports all around. Besides watching live matches, you can play foosball or air hockey pucks. The dishes were rich in taste and presentation.

We loved the fact that there is space to try out everything in the shop!

Trying outWe are really sure these two shops would be a huge hit in Parkland East with so many cycling and skating in East Coast Park!

And they serve freshly pressed fruit juices too! Perfect after a hot day at the beach!

Then came the highlight of Parkland Green: Tag Team @ ECP Parkland #01-03, tel: 6348-2696, open: 3 to 9pm, Wednesday to Friday, 11am to 9pm, weekend and public holiday

This is where the kids go WILD, as it is a HUGE laser tag arena, and it is Singapore’s first and only multi-arena/multi-weapon laser tag facility. This simply means besides running around and shooting at each other, you get to choose the theme you want to play in. You can choose the Battle Zone (think army!), Mystery Zone (think erm Mystery!) and the open gallery. We played in the Battle and Mystery zone for two 15 minutes missions. And everyone had fun! Real good clean sweat-out fun!

I’ll let the pictures tell you more about how the afternoon went!

You would notice that all the kids are so excited about their mission. But we only managed to get nice shots of Nathan, cos he was game enough to stop and pose. (girls were too afraid to stop.. kept running and screaming!)

When we played, there were boys and girls, and some young kids plus older upper primary ones. AND the adults played too. One would think it would be a glorious mess or some would be left out. But no, it was very inclusive, every one played to win, regardless of age! It’s that simple!

As Tag Team’s premises also caters to birthday parties and team building events, I can imagine this is going to be one very popular spot for both adults and kids!

We had a wonderful time at Parkland Green. Filled in our tummies, ran and screamed to our hearts’ content at the Laser tag games. Singapore just needs more of such fun foodie green enclaves!
